you guys should aim to win three GAMES in a row before going for three Premierships...who was it that recently won three in a row...but when was the last time you guys even won A premiership? last century, wasnt it?

and, if you call beating Carlton 'great'...well...i guess any win that richmond can scrap should be praised

at least when the Lions arent doing well, i dont go hiding under the rocks!

oh yeah, and the only thing better than winning a grand final, is demoralizing richmond in a prelim. final to get there

in ten years time, if someone asks me who won out of brisbane and richmond in 1999, i wont have a clue (i dont even remember right now), but if i ask any AFL fan who won THREE FLAGS in a row at the start of the 21st century, people will remember, the brisbane lions, because its worth remembering, unlike some little piddly home and away match!


how long have richmond been around? lets just say, roughly 100 years...in those years, only 10% of the years they have played they have won a flag...now, also take into account when the AFL began it was the VFL, and there was like, half as many teams as there is today, thus greatly increasing the chance of winning a flag (and with richmond, its all chance)

now brisbane, played their first year in...what was it, 97? so we have played 9 full seasons, and in that time, we win a premiership 33.34% of the years we play! now take into account we did it in an era with salary caps, a player-drafting system that pays no advantage at all to teams at the top of the ladder, having to fly, yada yada, yet we were able to win three!!!

i think the irony is hilarious, that (on what kizz said) richmond has only made finals ONCE since Brisbane was formed, and in that ONE finals campaign of theirs, they were absolutely demolished in the Preliminary Final, by, yes thats right, THE LIONS! (by the way, Brisbane then went on to win the grand final!)

since the season 2001, and including this season, Brisbane has beaten Richmond FIVE times, and in two of those wins, Brisbane has scored atleast twice as much as richmond!! whereas Richmond has only scraped THREE wins against the lions, mostly by small margins, one of them being just 4 points.


its ok for us though, as even though right now is a rather 'down' period for the lions, we can watch DVD's of Brisbane winning those three premierships to bring back recent memories.

the DVD wasnt even invented when richmond last won a grand final, back in the old days of 1980! thats a good 25 years!

now, lets go back to those wonderful Grand Final stats!

the Brisbane Lions have played in 4, won 3, and lost 1...now i know you Richmond supporters arent mathmeticians, so ill let you know, that is a 75% win rate!
Richmond on the other hand, have played in 21, won 10, and lost 11! that is only a 47.62% win rate!
